Her achievements when she was a teenager in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the category of child prodigies. For a child with Irish origins, who was surrounded her by talented parents, and her family, this came naturally. Maureen entered into this nurturing home on the 17th of August 20, in Ranelagh. Her mother, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland, and also ran the Shamrock Rovers soccer club and a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen was a natural athlete and loved playing athletic games. Her passion was coupled with the natural ability to perform. She took home almost every Feis Award for Drama and Theatre Performance that her country had to offer. Her acceptance at the Abbey Theater by age 14 She then was able to fulfill her goals of opera as well as classical theatre and singing.
