Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was raised by an aunt who worked as an housewife, and her father who was a teacher. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick is always a fan of dancing, singing and creating puppet shows. Following her win in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting into the world of entertainment. McCormick's first big job was in 1964 which was when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. The following year she appeared in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up and It is Broken at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked from among 1200 children who auditioned to play the eldest of three daughters towheaded in the upcoming TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show lasted five years. McCormick said in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly losing her virginity in the fifth season to Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. The actress was just 16 years old, and the actor 19, at that time. The incident could have occurred, she told me, but the timing was never right for us.
