Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. Her most famous role is portraying Emily Fields in Freeform's Pretty Little Liars. In Toronto, she took acting lessons after achieving the success of modeling and dancing. Mitchell was able to land a couple of commercials and guest roles on television series. Her biggest break came when she was filmed in the role of Emily Fields. Both the critics and the audience were impressed with her performance. She then made her mark in the world of film with films like DreamlandMother's Dayand The the Posession of Hannah Grace. Her cousin, Mitchell has the name of Lea Salonga who is a well-known musical theater singer and actress. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary after which she transferred to West Vancouver Secondary School. At the end of her teenage years she was modeling for various companies throughout the globe. She travelled to Barcelona and Bangkok before returning to Toronto for a course in acting.
